Vintage Design
This versatile modular freestanding wall unit from the 1950s or 1960s was manufactured by AV Arredamenti Contemporanei according to a design by Vittorio Dassi. Designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional, this freestanding bookcase will allow you to organize your space practically and elegantly.
The wall unit features four spacious cabinets, including one with a deep open niche and two drawers, one drop-front door cabinet, and six shelves. This combination of open shelving and closed cabinets offers a versatile mix of display and storage options, making it ideal for living rooms or offices where both aesthetics and organization are crucial. The drop-front door cabinet can be placed higher and used as a bar cabinet or hidden desk to create a discreet space for a home office.
The structure is made of solid, warm-hued teak wood and teak veneer with black varnished metal legs and adjustable brass feet, ensuring stability on uneven floors. Nicely sculpted handles and slightly curved side panels show Italian attention to delicate details. The black metal edges on all modules are a designer feature.
This self-standing wall unit is double-sided. The back is also veneered in teak, which makes it a perfect room divider. It is a modular system that can be arranged as needed. Shelves and cabinets are movable and can be placed lower, higher, or interchanged. The presented setup is just an example.
The wall unit includes:
2 cabinets: H: 39 / W: 78.5 / D: 40 cm
drop-front door cabinet: H: 50 / W: 78.5 / D: 40 cm (depth when fully opened: 83 cm)
cabinet with drawers: H: 50 / W: 78.5 / D: 40 cm
6 shelves: W: 78.5 / D: 24 cm
4 teak supports, each 215 cm long
Our team has checked the wall unit and ensured that the components fit together and all doors and drawers work smoothly and properly. The authenticity of this wall unit is confirmed by the manufacturer stamp. The wood has been cleaned and preserved with professional compounds and metal and brass elements have been refreshed. Despite the passage of time, the bookcase remains in excellent original condition with only minimal signs of use related to age.
