Vintage Design
Pair of lounge chairs and footstools by Francis Jourdain, France 1920s. Francis was the son of architect Frantz Jourdain, a pioneer of the Art Nouveau style. A famous project where Francis worked on was the interior of Villa Majorelle in Nancy. The chairs show stunning ‘fast’ bowed lines, beautifully made out of refined solid Pear wood which shows a great wood grain. The chairs can recline into various positions; lifting the front of the seat enables both backrest and seat to change position. The curved lines make a very interesting match with the square block seat and backrest with their beautiful cane weaving in block pattern. The chairs are in excellent condition and provide great comfort.
